Choosing To Invest In Education

As soon as my kids were old enough to go to school, I knew that I had to do something to help them to improve their education. They were going to class, but I could tell that some of the lessons weren't sinking in. Instead of assuming that their teachers would figure it out, I started focusing on teaching them what they needed to know in order to advance through school. It was incredible to see how much of a difference those simple actions made. Within a few short months, our kids were performing better in class, trying harder to learn difficult concepts, and succeeding. Read this blog to learn more about investing in education.

The path to becoming a licensed pilot can be a long one. However, it's very rewarding once you receive your license and are qualified to fly independently.

It's important to be aware of what you're getting yourself into when you go into flight school and pilot training. The following are six tasks you'll need to take care of if you want to become a licensed pilot.

Go through flight school

You'll need to choose a flight school to study at and successfully complete all requirements. The flight school will include both ground school and flight training.

It's important to choose your flight school carefully. You need to choose an affordable flight school program that will provide you with the resources you need to successfully attain your pilot's license.

Learn about all pertinent FAA regulations

Simply learning how to operate aircraft is not all you need to do to become a licensed pilot. You also need to learn about all FAA regulations that will be applicable to your function as a pilot.

Most flight schools should include developing an understanding of pertinent FAA regulations as part of their curriculum.

Learn the phonetic alphabet

The phonetic alphabet is essential for communicating with other pilots and with air traffic control.

It's a good idea to master the phonetic alphabet before you begin flight school. This will make many of your lessons easier and help you get through early training faster.

Learn to communicate with Air Traffic Control (ATC)

In addition to learning the phonetic alphabet, you also need to learn the standard procedures for communicating with air traffic control.

If you need practice with learning the language of pilots and ATC, you can listen in on busy radio frequencies to develop a thorough understanding of communication procedures in the world of aviation.

Pass your written exam

You shouldn't overlook the importance of your written exam when you're training to become a pilot. A lot of pilots-in-training focus on preparing for the practical exam while overlooking their written exam.

You don't want to be held up in your pilot training by failing the written exam and needing to retake it. That's why it's essential to pay close attention in ground school and master all of the topics covered on the written exam before you take it.

Pass your medical exam

You have to get a medical certificate in order to become a licensed pilot. It's important to be aware of the medical requirements and to schedule your medical exam so that you can have your medical certificate to show when you're ready to become a licensed pilot.
